Summer League #4 - Warriors vs Sonics

Notes:

- Belinelli needs to get the ball onto the glass quicker on his drives
- Bailey nailing a couple threes
- J. Powell showcasing good range on his jumper
- Pierce making nice drives to the basket
- Sonics length bothering the shorter Warriors
- Good vision on the part of Belinelli

Summary:

Belinelli's 3s were not falling earlier in the game, so he began to drive to the basket on his next possessions which was nice to see. The Sonics had Durant guarding him. Belinelli was able to turn the corner on Durant pretty regularly but Durant's length allowed him to recover and get a number of blocks. He also had a few drive and dish plays, keeping his head up, something Ellis should learn from. Defensively, Belinelli played smother defense on Durant, limiting him to an 0 for 5 early in the game.

After halftime and a couple of chucks by Belinelli, he is officially on the cold end of his shooting streak. Although at the beginning of the fourth quarter, he made two nice feeds in the lane and swished in a turnaround fadeaway over two defenders. Eye of the Tiger was playing in the intermission between the 3rd and 4th quarters. Coincidence? Not likely!

Other players to note:

Pierce had a strong drive for an and1 opportunity where he knocked down the entire front court of the Sonics. Showing urgency in the game.

Bailey knocked down a number of outside and midrange shots and played a bit better defense then earlier in the summer league.

POB showing some aggression on defense, changing a number of shots. Needs the same intensity on offense. Received a out of bounds pass near the hoop and missed a layup instead of slamming it home.

Warriors win 85-74

Marco Watch:

16 pts on 6-21 FG, 0-9 3PT, 4-5 FT, 1 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL
