Bowker blasts two, makes season interesting

As unlikely as the San Francisco Giants taking 2 out of 3 from the San Diego Padres and 2 of 4 from the St. Louis Cardinals, a Giants' position player from their farm system actually did decently in the two games he played.

Selected in the 3rd round of the 2004 draft out of Long Beach State, John Bowker made a splash at AT&T Park with two homers in the first two games of his big league career. Batting form the left side, both shots travelled well over the right field porch. Bowker tallied 7 RBIs to jump to 2nd place on the team behind Bengie Molina.

With Bowker and Lewis' improved batting, the Giants season has taken a turn for the better. If only they could get rid of the old folks--Rich Aurilla, Ray Durham, Dave Roberts, Randy Winn, Bengie Molina, Omar Vizquel--so these young guys could gain some experience.
